We did go and see Terry Fator, the ventriloquist who won a million dollars on some TV show. He was absolutely fantastic. He had about 5 dummies, each claiming to be impersonators. Each one impersonated some famous singer, instantly recognizable because Fator is so good. There was a large screen on each side of the stage and I'm sure everyone was checking it out to see if we could catch his mouth moving when his dummies sang. No way!!! Amazing. He also told jokes and did some imitations without the dummies. One, dressed in a black suit and white glove, was Michael Jackson. At the end of that song he picked up a toy doll and dangled it over the edge of the stage...I know, naughty, naughty. But funny!!!! His contract in Vegas, also won on that show, was to be thru May and they've extended it thru December. Absolutely no wonder as the show I saw was packed and I'm sure they all will be. He has a DVD out and if you have a chance to pick it up, do so.
Cathy returned to Hawaii, I rested up for a day and then headed towards California. First stop, Calico Ghost Town RV Park. Parked on too much of a slant (this place is rustic to say the least) and noticed about 9 pm that water was running from the bathroom sink area UNDER the floor into the hallway. Not good for the floorboards!!!! So in the dark I closed all my hookups and followed the little road down to the town. Parked in the lot of my favorite restaurant there, Peggy Sue's, along with about five big semi trucks and slept peacefully thru the rest of the night.
On to Bakersfield where temperatures are hitting 92/94.
Who's idea was this anyway?????
